I am an experienced counselor licensed in Montana and West Virginia. I believe in a holistic approach to mental health, addressing the mind, body and spirit.
My approach to supervision is heavily connected to my therapeutic style. Whether working with a client or another clinician, I recognize that I am working with another human who should be viewed as a whole. I believe in supporting clients and supervisees through difficulties by utilizing a person centered approach and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques in order to facilitate a space of safety and growth.I am theoretically centered by Existential theory but influenced by Humanistic and Behavioral theories.I am well versed in CBT, DBT, solution focused, health coaching and moderation coaching.
Like my theoretical foundation, my approach to supervision is eclectic. I am a combination of people/relationship oriented and transformational. I believe that a mutual respect between supervisor and supervisee, provides the most room for growth and motivation to do quality work, learn new skills, accept feedback that promotes growth, develop personal and leadership strengths. I believe in nurturing the strengths in others to build a stronger foundation for the counseling community.
I have worked in the counseling field since 2013 when I completed my BS, Human Development and Family Science. I have worked with diverse populations in diverse areas of the United States.I received my M.Ed, Counselor Education in 2017 and completed my licensure process for my LCPC, Montana shortly after. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of West Virginia. I have provided therapy in the substance abuse field for the last 7 years; working with youth, adolescents, families and individuals. I have worked with kids in foster care and adoptions and families who were court involved, I have worked with families experiencing homelessness, children and families in Head Start, severe mental health conditions, and Hospice care.
